All efforts are being made to update the summary revision of electoral roll in the district in accordance with the directive by the Election Commission of India.

Addressing representatives of major political parties at an official consultative meeting here on Friday, T. Karikalan, District Collector, said that election officials were enrolling all the eligible new voters with the qualifying age of 18. It has been planned to ensure maximum of cent per cent polling percentage during the forthcoming elections.

The Collector appealed to the elected representatives to extend their cooperation for cent per cent enrolment of new voters.

At the same time, duplicate entries for the voters in the roll should be rectified.

The Additional Collector, Mangalatte Dinesh, attended the meeting.

The officials explained the steps taken by the district administration for the enrolment of voters.

A special mobile unit was pressed into service so that the fresh voters particularly college students and youths could be enrolled on the spot at their door-steps.
