The district stadium gym is all set for a come back of sorts after its overhaul, much to the delight of fitness freaks here.
The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority’s gym at the stadium complex, inaugurated in 2005, was for long in need of modern equipment.
Cost
Now, the gym has been renovated with a whole new set of workout equipment at a cost of Rs.4.40 lakh. It will become operational from Monday. There is likely to be a separate slot for women between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. as well. The gym has been equipped with leg press, bench press, decline bench press, free bench, cable cross, T-Bar row, squat double twister, abdomen boards, vibrators, dumbbells, hyperextensions, plats of up to 15 kg, double twister, cable cross over – with rubber mat decor.
