Control rooms have been established, including at the Collector’s office, to handle election-related complaints. Public and political parties can lodge their complaints by contacting the control room phone and toll free numbers.

According to a press release, control rooms were being set up department-wise.

The control room of the District Election Officer at the Collectorate will function round-the-clock and will be manned by three staff on shift basis.

Persons can call the toll free number – 18004257014 or 0416-2254500/2254400.

The Central Income Tax Department’s 24-hour control room can also be contacted at the toll free number - 18004256669, while the police department’s facility can be informed on 94981 48889, the release said.

Similarly, public and political parties can inform election flying squads and static surveillance teams (SST) if they came across violations of the model code of conduct.

Dedicated mobile phone numbers have been given for the two teams – one number for every constituency in the district.

Thirty nine flying squads and an equal number of SSTs were formed to monitor the adherence to the model code of conduct in the 13 Assembly constituencies of Vellore district for this election.

To enable easy and anytime communication, the Election Commission had ordered that the flying squads and SSTs should be given separate mobile phone numbers constituency-wise.

Collector R. Nanthagopal, who is also the District Election Officer, said in a press release that public and political parties can contact the teams of the respective constituencies through these numbers.
