CEO to conduct enquiry into ragging charge

The Chief Educational Officer, Karur, is expected to conduct enquiry into the allegation of ragging reported in the Saraswathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Manmangalam on Wednesday.

By inmates of hostel

According to sources, a 16-year-old girl, was allegedly ragged by a few inmates in the hostel a few days ago, where she was staying.

The girl, studying in Class XI, was subsequently taken to her home by his father, where she was said to have attempted to commit suicide.

Besides lodging a complaint with the school management and the Velayuthampalayam police, her father preferred a complaint with the Chief Educational Officer on Tuesday.

A senior officer of Chief Educational Office said that a high level team would conduct enquiry into the allegations of ragging.

Steps would be taken based on the outcome.
