Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Madras Regiment’s Biennial Battalion Commanders Conference at the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington.

Stating that the conference will be held from May 23 to 25, a Defence press note issued here on Wednesday stated that it will focus on measures to enhance professionalism and the image of the regiment. It will open with a ceremony at the War Memorial of the regiment in which homage would be paid to all those who have made the sacrifice for the country.

The deliberations will take place over the next two days at the historic Shrinagesh barracks.

The other events would include inter-battalion football matches, presentation of the rolling trophy for documentation, presentation of war memorabilia and book release. The conference will be chaired by Lt. General J.P. Nehra, Colonel of the regiment.
