Stating that the proposed four-lane road work would damage all the houses in Akkiyampatti village, villagers wanted the route to be modified so that their houses are not demolished.

Villagers said that under the Tamil Nadu Road Development Project, Mohanur – Namakkal – Sendamangalam – Rasipuram route is to be converted as four-lane.

The proposed road passes through their village in Sendamangalam where over 1,500 families reside.

They demanded that the road be redesigned so that it does not pass through their village.

Later, they submitted a petition to Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy who assured to look into the issue.
