Advocates join hands to oppose amendments to rules

They formed human chains in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai

Advocates formed human chains in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai protesting against the amendments to the rules framed under the Advocates Act.

In Vellore, the human chain was held between Anchaneyar Temple near the Collectorate and the combined court complex.

Vellore Bar Association president G. Seralathan, Vellore District Bar Association president M. Baskaran and Advocates Association president G. Krishnamurthi were among those who participated.

Advocates from other towns in Vellore district such as Arcot, Sholingur, Ranipet and Wallajah also participated. Advocates who joined in the human chain protest raised slogans demanding withdrawal of the amendments made to the rules framed under the Advocates Act.

In Tiruvannamalai, representatives of the Bar Association, Advocates Association and Lawyers Association participated in the human chain formed between the old court complex and Periyar statue. They too raised slogans and distributed pamphlets.
