Aadhaar enrolment in schools

The enrolment of school students who have not yet applied for Aadhaar number in Kancheepuram district began here on Tuesday.

According to official sources, a total of 2,11,075 children were studying in high and higher secondary schools in the district. Out of this, 1,32,691 have already obtained Aaadhaar number and 26,647 have applied for the same. The left out students — 51,937 in total — would be covered during the special enrolment camps to be organised at their respective schools and the exercise would be completed by December.
