9 injured as omni bus rams into a stationary SETC bus

As many as nine people were injured in an accident when a private omni bus rammed into a stationary State-owned State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) on Monday morning near Krishnagiri.

According to police, a punctured SETC bus from Madurai to Bangalore was parked on the fly-over in National Highway near Dam Road.

The incident occurred when the crew members of the SETC bus were changing the tyres after alighting all the passengers from the bus.

An omni bus going towards Bangalore rammed the SETC bus from behind. The driver Ramamurthy, conductor Jagadish of omni bus and SETC conductor Venugopal sustained severe injuries. The omni bus driver suffers a fractured leg. Others who were injured in the accident were, Ramachandran from Madurai, Balamurali and his wife Murugalakshmi from Kovilpatti, Senthil Kumar, Prathija and Thangakannan.

All those injured were admitted in the Krishnagiri Government Headquarters Hospital. Kaveripattinam police have registered a case and are investigating.
