A 53-year old man died of swine flu on Wednesday, taking the toll claimed by the infection in the city to 33, hospital authorities said.

Rajendra Dake, who was shifted from Civic Naidu hospital to government-run Sassoon hospital, had been undergoing treatment since August 22, they said.

Meanwhile, the district administration has appealed to the people to keep celebrations on the Ananth Chaturdashi day, signalling the concluding day of Ganesh festival on Thursday, a low key affair to avoid large scale overcrowding in the city.
