Sushma to miss Mongolia Minister’s visit

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who has been hospitalised since Monday will miss an important bilateral meeting on Thursday with her visiting Mongolian counterpart Lundeg Purevsuren.

“A medical team of specialists is looking after her. Her current condition is stable and she is showing signs of improvement,” an AIIMS press release stated on Wednesday.

Mr. Purevsuren is likely to sign an agreement with the Ministry of External Affairs in the afternoon operationalising the $1 billion Line of Credit that Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared during his May 2015 visit to Mongolia.

In her absence, Minister of State V. K. Singh has been filling in for her. On Thursday, both sides are expected to discuss the Asia Europe Meeting which will be held in July in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.
