Srinivasan to attend ICC meeting

April 06, 2014 12:19 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:46 pm IST - CHENNAI:

A top cricket official confirmed that N. Srinivasan will represent the BCCI at the ICC Executive Board meeting in Dubai on April 9 and 10. The meeting is likely to discuss the legal aspects of the revamped ICC governance model.

The official told The Hindu on Saturday that Mr. Srinivasan will leave for Dubai on April 7 and return to Chennai on April 10. The Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) had, on Friday, expressed its reservations about Mr. Srinivasan attending the meeting.

“While we are pleased that Mr. Srinivasan, at the behest of the Supreme Court, has agreed to step down from his duties as BCCI President, we are of the firm belief that he should not be exercising any functions on behalf of the ICC either, while any investigations concerning his conduct or that of his company are pending or unresolved,” FICA executive chairman Paul Marsh had said. — Sports Reporter
