The rajya Sabha was adjourned for 15 minutes after women MPs led by Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan stormed the well of the house demanding action against Tihar jail authorities for allowing an interview of one of the perpetrators of the December 16 gangrape.

The women parliamentarians were later joined by their male colleagues from the opposition.

" We don't need your crocodile tears,"Ms. Bachchan said to the BJP MPs in the treasury Benches of the house.

JD(U) MP K.C.Tyagi gave a notice under rule 267 for a debate on the issue.

Deputy Chairman P. J. Kurien reserved the notice while agreeing the interview should not have been allowed.

BJP MP Mukhtaar Abbas Naqvi tried to assure the opposition that home minister Rajnath Singh had taken cognizance of issue.

"Rest assured...strictest action will be taken against those responsible," he said.

However, senior lawyer and MP KTS Tulsi found nothing wrong with the interview that is part of a BBC documentary on the December 16th 2012 gangrape titled "India's Daughter ".

"Its important to get into the perpetrators' minds to make rules, there should be more such interviews,"said Mr.Tulsi.
