A judicial magistrate's court at Margao on Friday remanded the former Goa Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco to seven days' police custody in the case of the unnatural death of his friend, Nadia Torrado.

The court upheld the Crime Branch submission that custodial interrogation was required. .

Mr. Pacheco, an NCP legislator, was arrested on Thursday after he had been discharged from the Hospicio Hospital at Margao. He was booked on the charges of abetment to suicide and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Ms. Torrado, who had allegedly consumed rat poison on May 15, died in a Chennai hospital on May 30.
