“See that the next of kin of those, who died in the storm have bank accounts, so that the money that they will get from the State government and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund gets deposited in their account,” Mr. Narayanan told senior district administration officials after visiting the tornado affected villages.
Earlier in the day, the Governor accompanied by West Bengal Civil Defence minister Srikumar Mukherjee, State Disaster Management secretary M L Meena arrived here.
Mr. Narayanan then visited some villages, where storm affected victims spoke about the problems they are facing.
The Governor asked the district magistrate to ensure that everybody gets relief material.
More than 40 people were killed when a storm hit the district on the night of April 13.
