Union Carbide submitted on Tuesday that its factory in Bhopal had adhered to the safety norms and denied the charge that the company had decided to shift the “plant in bad shape” prior to the 1984 tragedy.
Denying the CBI's charge that the lack of maintenance and safety measures had led to the world's worst industrial disaster, defence counsel D. Prasad told Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohan P. Tiwari that the firm followed all safety measures to keep the factory in proper shape.
