Two injured in motorcycle blast in Pune

Two persons, including a woman, were injured and two motorcycles destroyed due to a low intensity blast in the premises of a police station in Pune, police sources said. The reason of the blast is unknown.

The blast occurred around 2.15 pm on Thursday in the parking lot of the Faraskhana police station in a busy area of Pune. Sources stated that the blast occurred in the back carrier of a motorcycle.

The famous Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh temple is also in the vicinity. The temple has been a sensitive area and has been under the radar of terrorist groups.

According to police sources, Pune police commissioner Satish Mathur and a team of the Anti Terrorism Squad reached the blast spot along with a bomb disposal sqaud to ascertain the reason for the blast.
