Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed when they were defusing an IED planted by Maoists in Aurangabad district on Monday. Seven others were injured.
According to the police, a team of CRPF and State police personnel was working on defusing a landmine when it exploded injuring nine of them. Two later succumbed to injuries. The others were being treated at the Sadar Hospital in Aurangabad. The officer-in-charge of the Dibra police station was among the injured.
On the same day in the neighbouring Gaya district, police unearthed two powerful bombs, weighing about 20 kg each, near a primary school in village Viraj under the Kothi police station with the help of sniffer dogs. Police defused them.
In Gopalganj district, RJD district secretary Rustam Ali was gunned down by four unidentified persons at his residence on Sunday. An FIR has been lodged.
