Tributes paid to SP leader Bhatia

The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday paid rich tributes to party leader and Rajya Sabha member Virendra Bhatia, who died here on Monday after a brief illness. He was 63.

Party general secretaries Ram Gopal Yadav and Mohan Singh expressed shock at the untimely death of Mr. Bhatia. He was the Advocate-General of the Uttar Pradesh government during Mulayam Singh's tenure.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chairman of Rajya Sabha and Vice-President Hamid Ansari paid rich tributes to Mr. Bhatia.
