Miffed over poor marks in examination, three girl students allegedly smeared their teacher’s face with black ink, following which a case was registered against them, the police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday when the three Class XII students -- Purnima Pyasi, Shivani Pyasi and Pallavi Agrawal -- all aged 18, blackened their teacher Rekha Gupta’s (35) face with ink at the school, over getting low marks in physics practical test, District Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rajput said.

The incident took place at the Government Senior Secondary School in the town, Mr Rajput said, adding that the accused are at large.

The three girls were booked under IPC sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 294 (obscene acts), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) rw 34 (common intention), the SP said.

He said that a hunt has been launched to arrest the students. - PTI
