Three killed in rain-related incidents in U.P.

Three persons were killed and several others injured in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh where southwest monsoon has been active since Saturday.

A five-year-old girl was killed and five members of her family, including her parents and siblings, were injured as their house in Lakadsangha village in Muzaffarnagar collapsed after heavy rains battered the area, police said.

In a similar incident in Muzaffarnagar, four of a family were injured when their house in Chandsina village collapsed last evening.

Over half a dozen areas in Mathura, including New Bus stand, Bhuteshwar, Baldeo Ashram, Regency Garden, Krishna Nagar, Holi Gate, were severely waterlogged.

According to MeT department, rain and thunder showers are likely at many places over east U.P. and at a few places over western parts of the State on Monday.
