Three girls died and over a dozen were injured after a fire broke out at a Rashtriya Shivir in Rajkot's Pransla village on Friday midnight.

The incident occurred in an Ashram set up by Swami Dharmabandhu where annually a camp is organised in which children from across the country participate.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani ordered inquiry into the incident and asked Rajkot District Collector to submit a report to the State government. He has also announced compensation of ₹4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.

The injured are under treatment. “The fire first started in tent where girls were staying. There are three casualties in the incident,” Rajkot district Collector Vikrant Pandey said.
