Former Bihar Health Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav has vacated his government bungalow while accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy in the Cabinet Sushil Kumar Modi for “unleashing ghosts” in the house.

“I’ve vacated the bungalow as it was haunted… Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi have unleashed ghosts in it,” Mr. Yadavtold journalists. However, he added quickly, “I do not fear ghosts as I’m a devotee of lord Shiva.”

When Tej Pratap Yadav was Health minister in the previous grand alliance government, he was allotted 3, Deshratna Marg as his official bungalow. But, he and his family members were residing at 10, Circular Road bungalow, which was allotted to his mother Rabri Devi.

However, when the grand alliance government collapsed in July last year, all the ministers from the RJD quota were asked to vacate their official bungalows. The RJD leaders, later, moved the Patna High Court on the issue. The court put a stay on the government’s order asking the occupants to pay rent at market rates.

The ruling JD(U) and BJP leaders have slammed Tej Pratap for his “ghost” comments against CM Nitish Kumar and Dy CM Sushil Kumar Modi. “The statement of Tej Pratap itself shows his and his party’s mindset… they’re the real ghosts… let them say such superstitious things when Bihar is making progress under Nitish Kumar,” said JD(U) leader and party spokesperson Neeraj Kumar. State BJP leaders said, “Who will be bigger ghosts than Tej Pratap Yadav’s family?”.

However, RJD spokesperson and party MLA Shakti Yadav said Mr. Yadav decided to vacate the bungalow after receiving a second notice from the government. But, the State Building Construction Department Minister Maheshwar Hazari said that his department had not been informed yet about Mr. Yadav vacating the bungalow.
