Suspected ISI agent remanded in judicial custody

Suspected ISI agent Mohammand Eizaz was remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody by a court here on Saturday.

Special Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Singh passed the order placing Eizaz in judicial custody for 14 days, ATS Circle Officer Ankit Kumar said here on Sunday. Meanwhile, the local Sadar police sought a seven-day remand of Eizaz for interrogation for which a hearing would be held in the court on Monday, he added.

Earlier, during interrogation, Eizaz said that four persons from Kolkata — Mohammad Irshad, his two brothers Irfan and Jehangir, and son Ashfaque Ansari provided him with shelter and support.

All the four persons have been booked in this connection and efforts are on to arrest them.
