Stop victimising people, says Narayanasamy

Union Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office and Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy has appealed to Chief Minister N Rangasamy to “stop victimising” people and “instead concentrate on governance.”

“We thought of not criticising the government for the first six months but we were compelled to react as the Chief Minister was victimising people. He should stop this and instead concentrate on governance,” Mr. Narayanasamy told The Hindu .

Since Mr. Rangasamy assumed office he had removed hundreds of people working as part-time employees in government-run Societies and corporation. These people were removed “just because” they were appointed by Mr. Vaithilingam during his tenure. Around 500 people had been rendered jobless so far, the Union Minister claimed.

He pointed that when Mr. Vaithilingam took over half-way during the last Assembly he did not remove those appointed by Mr Rangasamy. “If the trend continues the Congress party will organise mass protest,” he said. However, he added that his party would function as “constructive opposition.”

Earlier, he attended various functions organised by the Pradesh Congress Committee to mark the birthday of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
