STF jawan killed in Chhattisgarh encounter

A jawan of the Special Task Force was killed in an encounter with the Maoists in Sukma district of South Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

“A team of the STF and district police came under fire from the Maoists near Kondare village under Gadiras police station at around 3 p.m. when they were returning from a routine patrolling. The firing continued for next one hour.

“One STF constable Mahendra Singh died in the incident,” said Sukma district Additional SP Santosh Singh.

The STF constable had received bullet injuries near his chest and died on the way, to Jagdalpur for treatment, said Mr. Singh.
