Seminar on Coastal environ, health in Goa

The Pensioners' Welfare Association of CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) will hold a two-day seminar on Coastal Environment and Health and annual convention on March 22-23 at NIO near Panaji.

Health of the seniors living in coastal belt of India will be the focal theme of the event while other issues pertaining to the seniors will also be discussed at the seminar which will be inaugurated by Shailesh Nayak, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.

Objective of the seminar is to provide a platform to scientists, technologists and health management experts from various CSIR organizations, concerned State and Central government departments and NGOs to share the expertise and draw a viable action plan to tackle the threat to marine environment.

More than 150 scientists, technologists and health management experts from across the country are expected to attend the seminar.

Former-Directors of CSIR Laboratories B.N. Desai, B.N. Dhawan, V.P. Kamboj, P.K. Seth ,R.C. Srimal will also participate in the meet.
