Gujarat Chief Minister-designate Vijay Rupani will be sworn in along with Deputy Chief Minister- designate Nitin Patel and other ministers at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on Sunday.

Mr. Rupani resigned as the Bharatiya Janata Party State president after his elevation as Anandiben Patel’s successor. “We have handed over to the Governor a letter staking claim to form the government. The Governor has invited Mr. Rupani for swearing-in on Sunday,” said Dinesh Sharma, in-charge of the party in the State.

BJP president Amit Shah met Mr. Rupani and other leaders to finalise the names of the ministers and to discuss the selection of the party president ahead of the 2017 Assembly elections.
