In the wake of a Supreme Court panel finding, prima facie, “unwelcome behaviour” against Justice (retd.) Asok Kumar Ganguly pertaining to a sexual harassment charge, an advocate filed a public interest in at the Calcutta High Court on Monday seeking that orders be passed to restore people’s faith in the West Bengal Human Rights Commission that Justice Ganguly is heading.
“The people of West Bengal are at a loss after the three judge panel has prima facie found allegations of sexual harassment against Justice Ganguly to be true. So at this moment he cannot continue as the chairperson of the WBHRC,” Rama Prasad Sarkar, the petitioner, told The Hindu .
