The Kothrud police on Wednesday booked a professor of Yashwantrao Mohite College for allegedly seeking sexual favours from an Iranian student for providing assistance with her Ph.D. course.

Shivaji Borhade was booked under Section 354 (a) [sexual harassment] for making the proposition to the 31-year-old student who approached him on Tuesday noon. The student had recorded her conversation with the professor on her mobile phone. “He said he would help me with the degree if I did what he asked for,” she said.
