On a day when Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee reiterated her support to the agitation against alleged forcible acquisition of land at Singur, a section of farmers organised a protest against the manner in which her Railway Ministry is acquiring land for a project at Nandigram in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district.

“We are not against the Railways project. We just want a declaration of adequate compensation for the land and a job for a member of every family of land losers,” said Narayan Chandra Jana, convenor of the Annadata Bhumi Raksha Committee.
