Priyanka to Modi: what have you done for farmers

April 25, 2014 11:57 pm | Updated May 21, 2016 01:23 pm IST - LUCKNOW:

Assailing the Gujarat model of development, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on Friday accused the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi of giving away thousands of acres of land in his State to his “friends at throwaway prices” and questioned his commitment to farmers.“People are knowledgeable and know that you have given thousands of acres of land to your friends in the industry. Why don’t you tell them about the state of farmers and workers [in Gujarat]?” Ms. Vadra asked in Rae Bareli, where she is campaigning for her mother.

Ms. Vadra advised Mr. Modi to stop using phrases such as ‘RSVP’ (Rahul, Sonia, Vadra, Priyanka) and ‘ABCD’ (Adarsh, Bofors, Coal scam and Damad ka karobaar [son-in-law’s business]) as he was not addressing a “primary school classroom,” but the people of the country. “You must be watching [Mr. Modi’s rallies] on television. Kabhi (sometimes) ABCD, kabhi RSVP. Please stop it.”
