Opposition INLD MP Dushyant Chautala on Sunday termed the Prakash Singh Committee report on recent Jat quota agitation violence as an attempt to “hide” the failures of Haryana government and “defame” his party.
His remarks came a day after Prakash Singh, former Uttar Pradesh DGP who headed the committee, regretted the error saying it was a “bona fide mistake“.
Dushyant Chautala was named in the Prakash Singh Committee report for allegedly adding “fuel to the fire” during the Jat agitation.
Prakash Singh regretted the error on Saturday, saying the inclusion of parliamentarian’s name was a “bona fide mistake”.
“I stick to my stand that all members of the Committee along with the Home Minister (CM Khattar) and state home secretary should apologies for naming me in the report, without any evidence,” he said.
“I would not let the fight over until all the frivolous references attributed to me in the copies of the report are expunged,” Dushyant said.
He said he will take legal recourse against the authorities responsible in the matter and demand action from the Parliamentary Privileges Committee to whom the matter has been referred to.
