A group of hackers calling themselves “Pak Cyber Attackers” hacked the website of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) on Sunday.
The group uploaded content on the homepage suggesting that the website was hacked on August 14, Pakistan’s Independence Day, in protest against the “killing of Muslims in Kashmir and in India”.
“Pakistan Zindabad Happy August 14, 2016 — Team Pak Cyber Attackers — Stop Killing of Muslims in Kashmir and in India”, the homepage read while displaying the Pakistani national flag.
The main hacker identified himself as Zain Haxor.
Raj Amonkar, chair of the GIM’s Ribandar Campus, told The Hindu that the institute’s technical department restored the website. “As our own technical team concluded that it was a minor thing, they handled it and did not feel the need to file a police complaint,” he said.
