Union Home Minister P Chidambaram released the Anthem for National Security Guards (NSG)on Friday at the 25th founding day celebrations of NSG in Manesar, Haryana.

While hailing the efforts of NSG commandos during Operation Thunder after 26/11 attacks, the minister said that the government will procure high-tech and sophisticated weapons for the elite NSG commandos to help them deal with any terror threat.

He commended the NSG for their brave efforts in securing the country,” We also remember the supreme sacrifice of NSG commandos Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Hawildar Gajender Singh and the entire force who fought valiantly to liquidate the terrorists in Mumbai in November last year," Chidambaram said.

The NSG anthem has been written by lyricist Gulzaar while Shankar Mahadevan has composed the music and sung the anthem. The four-minute song reflects the courage and valour of the NSG commandos who valiantly fought terrorists during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Besides using the NSG's slogan "Sarvatra Sarvottam Suraksha" (everywhere best security), the song also speaks about the commando forces' stride in other parts of the country with the establishment of new NSG hubs.

The NSG's silver jubille and Raising Day celebration was attended by NSG director-general NPS Aulakh, singer Shankar Mahadevan and many other prominent personalities.
