The Bhiwani Police have so far not made any arrests in the “honour killing'' of a boy and girl, whose bodies were found hanging in the house of the girl's uncle in Neemdiwala village in Bhiwani district on Sunday.

Treating the incident as a case of “suspected'' honour killing, the police had on Sunday registered a case of murder against six persons including the girl's parents, two brothers, uncle and aunt.

According to preliminary investigations, the girl Monica (18) was in love with Pinku (19), a resident of Manheru village, and her family members were opposed to her decision to marry him as they were from the same gotra (caste/sub-caste).

The police said the post-mortem reports were awaited to decide on whether it was case of “suicide'' or “honour killing.'' Preliminary investigations indicated that the victims were killed in the house of the girl's uncle and the bodies could have been “hanged'' to make it look like a case of suicide.

The Police said that a watch was being kept on the “relatives'' of the girl so that they did not run away.
