Nine judges have been shown the door by the Madhya Pradesh High Court while 30 others are under the scanner in the State for violations of code of conduct and various other counts.
Three judges have been dismissed from service while six others have been given compulsory retirement.
The dismissed judges include Vijay Kumar Singh, civil judge Shujalpur for repeated drunken behaviour in public and in office, M.M. Khan, civil judge class-II for complaining against another judge with bad intent and Nitin Kumare, who was under probation and had a preliminary enquiry on against him.
Mr. Singh had a departmental enquiry going on against him and had two increments stopped because of that. Mr. Kumare had been harassing a guard who eventually committed suicide.
“Apart from these, there are 33 judges who are facing departmental enquiries which will soon be concluded and action taken accordingly,” Principal Registrar (Inspection and Vigilance), Madhya Pradesh High Court told The Hindu .
Six judges have been given compulsory retirement under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Pension Rules for various reasons including unsatisfactory performance.
