The Narcotics Control Bureau on Friday arrested two persons on charges of drug peddling in the coast of Goa. One of the accused, a German national, Ralf Diersmann alias Goose (40), has been visiting India regularly since the past five years, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials told The Hindu on Friday. He claimed to have acted as an extra in the recent Hindi movie ‘Dum Maro Dum', which was based on the mafia in Goa.
“We have also arrested one Indian national in Sawantwadi [in coastal Maharashtra] named Krishna Singh. They both are accomplices. We have seized 3.5 kg premium quality hashish from them,” Yashodhan Wanage, Zonal Director, NCB, told The Hindu .
The seized hashish was valued at Rs.17.5 lakh in the Indian market and over Rs.1 crore in the international market. Both the accused were booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Diersmann, a qualified radio and TV technician, has been paying regular two-month visits to India nearly every year. “The only year he did not come was in 2010. He himself is a marijuana user,” an NCB official said.
