The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has upgraded security for Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy to ‘Z’ scale after a crude device was detected in a car parked near his residence here.
Sources told The Hindu that the security of Mr. Narayanasamy has been upgraded from Y category. The Z scale cover provides 22 personnel, a pilot car and an escort car.
When he is in Puducherry, Mr. Narayanasamy will have 13 commandoes from the Central Reserve Police Force from Tamil Nadu and seven from Puducherry’s Indian Reserve Battalion escorting him.
In addition, he would have a Personal Security Officer and an additional Security officer.
He will also get a bullet-proof vehicle.
