An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer posted in Patna was arrested on Wednesday allegedly for ‘molesting’ a minor girl from Sikkim at a coaching institute mentored by him.

The girl was attending classes for her medical entrance exam and residing in a hostel along with other students in Patna.

“The officer was arrested after an FIR was filed at the Digha police station. The complainant stated that she was molested by the officer in the hostel room on the night of February 17,” Shibli Nomani, Deputy SP (Law and Order), said.

The officer was living in the same flat in which the coaching centre is located.
