A day after BJP leader and Union Minister Gopinath Munde died in a car accident on his way to the airport here, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s car was hit by his security escort vehicle when a vehicle rammed into his convoy in the capital on Wednesday.

Mr. Bhagwat remained unhurt in the accident that took place while he too was on his way to the airport.

According to police, Mr. Bhagwat's escort car was hit by a private vehicle from behind and due to the impact the escort car rammed into the RSS leader’s vehicle.

The Sangh leader was on his way to the airport to take a flight to Gorakhpur, said a police officer.
