‘Modi silence on Lalitgate acceptance of crime’

September 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Jaipur:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on Lalitgate controversy involving External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is acceptance of their crime, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot said here on Wednesday.

The former Chief Minister said it was surprising that despite the entire controversy involving Ms Swaraj and Ms Raje, the Prime Minister had not taken any action against them. “The Prime Minister is silent which is also acceptance of their crime. He is trying to protect them,” he alleged.

Mr Gehlot reiterated his demand for resignation of Ms Raje on moral grounds.

He alleged that she did “anti-national” activity by giving affidavit in support of former IPL boss Lalit Modi with a condition that authorities in India should not know about it.-- PTI
