Modi set to visit Ayodhya

In a politically significant move, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Ayodhya this week and offer prayers at the disputed site.

VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Praveen Togadia and Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath and yoga guru Ramdev will reach the town on Tuesday to welcome Mr. Modi, according to Sharad Sharma, Uttar Pradesh spokesman of the VHP. Mr. Sharma said the Chief Minister, who was expected to visit Ayodhya on Wednesday or Friday, would also visit the makeshift Ram temple.
