June 06, 2014 12:05 am | Updated 12:05 am IST - LUCKNOW:

Even as the outrage over the Badaun incident remains fresh in the public mind, the bodies of a couple were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district.

While the motive of the crime is yet to be ascertained by the police, the incident is suspected to be a case of honour killing. The couple, in their twenties, were residents of Rampur Karkhana village. Their bodies were found hanging from a “Pakarh” tree in a farm near Pipri village under Deoria’s Tarkulwa police station area by villagers early on Thursday.

State IG (Law and Order) Amrendra Kumar Sengar said autopsy was being conducted and the cause of death would be known from the post mortem report. Mr. Sengar said there were no visible marks of injury on their bodies. Mr. Sengar said Nagendra and his wife’s was a love marriage which had the approval of both families.
