Maoist-police encounter in Bihar

An encounter broke out between Maoists and security forces in Bihar’s Rohtas district with no immediate report of casualty, police said.

“More than 500 bullets were exchanged between the Maoists and security forces at Kaimur hills,” Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Shahabad, Sushil M Khopre said.

There was no report of any casualty from either side, he said.

The encounter began when a combing operation against the ultras was going on in Matigaon village in Chatia police station area near Kaimur hills, Mr. Khopre said.
