The administration has made all preparations for the last major bath of the Mahakumbh on Wednesday as over 20 lakh pilgrims are expected to take a dip in the river Ganga, officials said here.

All preparations regarding tomorrow’s bath have been completed, DIG (Kumbh mela) Alok Sharma said.

A huge rush of pilgrims is expected on the occasion of Baishakh Adhimas Purnima tomorrow, Mr. Sharma said.

The traffic regulations have already been put in place, he said, adding heavy vehicles are not being allowed to enter Haridwar, and area of Har—Ki—Pauri, the main bathing ghat, has been declared as “Zero zone” for vehicular traffic.

The intelligence agencies have also been put on high alert and checking is being conducted in hotels and motels of the town, he said.

Sadhus and seers belonging to various Akharas have already left the Kumbh area after the fourth and last royal bath on April 14.

The three—month—long Mahakumbh mela that began on January 14 on Makar Sankranti, is culminating on April 30.
