6 feared dead in house collapse in Udhampur

There were reports of a house collapse in remote belt of Panchari area of Udhampur district triggered by landslides.

Six people are feared dead in a house collapse triggered by landslides in a remote village in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

There were reports of a house collapse in remote belt of Panchari area of Udhampur district triggered by landslides, a senior police officer said on Sunday.

As per the report, six people are feared dead and a team of NDRF and police have been airlifted to the area to undertake the rescue operation, he said.

They are working there and further details are awaited, the officer said, adding, 21 people have lost their lives in flash-floods and house collapses in Udhampur district so far.
