Ishrat case: supplementary charge sheet ready

December 02, 2013 11:49 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 06:48 am IST - New Delhi:

In its supplementary charge sheet in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case, the CBI is likely to delve into the role of four Intelligence Bureau officials, including the former Special Director, Rajinder Kumar.

Sources in the CBI on Monday said their investigating officers would give details of the role played by Mr. Kumar, Rajeev Wankhede, M.K. Sinha, and T. Mittal — all IB officials, who were posted in Gujarat when the encounter took place in 2004. The charge sheet is ready and has been sent to CBI Director Ranjit Sinha for his approval.

The sources said a final decision on the charge sheet could be taken only by the CBI Director.
