Infosys to set up unit in Uttar Pradesh

Information technology giant Infosys will set up a unit in Uttar Pradesh.

At a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the Cabinet on Tuesday approved the decision to grant exemption from stamp duty for establishing the unit.

The Chief Secretary, Alok Ranjan, said 27.75 acres of land would be given to Infosys by the Noida Development Authority for setting up the unit. With an investment of Rs. 1,400 crore the unit will generate job opportunities for 35,000 people, the Chief Secretary told journalists.

The Cabinet also approved the Eco Tourism Policy. With the emphasis on promoting conservation, the policy would aim at low impact community-based ecology work and the stress would be on encouraging public-private partnership .
