IGIA baggage thief held

June 17, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:07 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The two bags stolen from a luggage conveyer belt at the IGI Airport here belonged to singer Falguni Pathak and a political leader, the police said. The thief has been arrested.

The accused Jasbir Singh alias Shera allegedly needed to travel to meet his girlfriends.

However, the 34-year-old found his income as a football player and a government employee insufficient to support this lifestyle.

“He used to come to the IGI airport by flight, stole check-in baggage and took it as hand baggage in another flight,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) D.K. Gupta.

Ultimately, it was CCTV cameras that led the police to Singh.
